1Dirichlet lived in the 1800’s and grew up on the German-Belgian border. He studied with Georg Ohm (yes, the Ohm) and took Friedrich Gauss’s (yes, the Gauss) job after he died. He was also married to Rebecka Mendelssohn, sister of the composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (yes, the Mendelssohn).[Elstrodt, 2007]
