To me this seems to be the core reason for the industry support of that delivery format.
By the way – I find the over and over-repeated comparison of the vinyl playback and the file-compressed (and ad supported) stream quite unfair.
People should do a comparison of the playback of a lossless file and the playback of the vinyl…from the same origin (with the same audio settings etc), and then tell us which they prefer.
I am fine, if someone then tells me, that he likes the vinyl better.
It may sound ‘different’, but no one should put that on par with sounding ‘better’.
